Comfort (which varies from person to person) and portability (on-ear pairs are often smaller and more travel-friendly) are the main factors to consider when choosing between the two.
How to Purchase Wireless Headphones
Since Apple removed the headphone jack on the iPhone, wired headphones and earphones have taken a backseat to Bluetooth models that require no cables. Moreover, true wireless headphones don't even feature a wire connecting the two earpieces.
Audiophiles may still prefer wired headphones, especially for home listening (and small cable adapters are available for iOS and Android devices without a headphone jack). If you prefer wired headphones, there are still plenty of options on the market. However, it's important to note that many wireless headphones come with a cable that allows you to use them in a passive mode. This doesn't drain the battery and gives you the best of both worlds.
Despite significant advancements in Bluetooth audio quality, the sonic benefits of wired headphones are still significant. Bluetooth, being a lossy codec stream, is inherently inferior to a wired audio connection.
